We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). As a Registered Training Organisation, we also handle information in line with our obligations under the national vocational education and training (VET) system.

What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on your dealings with us. It may include:

  • your name, date of birth and gender
  • your contact details, including email address, phone number and postal address
  • your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • identification and background details needed to confirm eligibility, such as citizenship or residency status where relevant
  • education, training, employment and language background information collected for enrolment and government reporting
  • assessment records, results, and the certification we issue to you

We generally do not collect sensitive information unless it is necessary for a specific purpose, such as a disability or medical condition where you have asked us to make reasonable adjustments. Where we collect sensitive information, we do so with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you wherever practical, including through enrolment forms, assessments, our website enquiry form, email, phone, and in person during training. In some cases we collect information from third parties, such as an employer who enrols you, or one of our authorised third-party delivery partners.

  • maintain and improve our services and website.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth), we cannot issue you a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment unless you have a USI and have provided it to us. We collect, use and disclose your USI only for purposes relating to the VET system, as permitted by that Act.

Disclosure of your personal information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • our authorised third-party delivery partners, trainers and assessors, where they are involved in delivering your training on our behalf

  • service providers who help us operate our business, such as our student management system, IT, payment and communication providers, under confidentiality arrangements
  • a person or organisation you have authorised, such as an employer who is funding your training
  • any party where we are required or authorised to do so by law.

As a registered VET provider, we are required to collect and report data about your training. Your personal information may be used and disclosed for statistical, regulatory, audit, funding and research purposes in accordance with the National VET Data Policy. Further information is available from NCVER.
