About HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Students will develop the skills and knowledge to respond to an emergency situation, perform CPR procedures, communicate details of an incident and review an incident. They will learn how to manage, in line with the ARC guidelines, unconscious casualties, both breathing and non-breathing, as well as how to hand them over to emergency services.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Participants who pass the assessment will receive a Statement of Attainment acknowledged by the Australian Qualifications Framework. This accreditation is recognised across Australia.
