Course Delivery and Assessment

At Talented Training we strongly believe the best outcomes for celebrancy training are achieved with the inclusion of some face-to-face training. In a classroom environment with an experienced celebrant as your trainer, you learn not just what’s written in the book, but how your trainer deals with their day-to-day work as a celebrant. We draw upon our real life experience to teach and train you. We will give you real life examples (both good and bad) of situations we’ve encountered and obstacles that we have had to overcome. Our aim is to equip you with the all of our best tricks and tips so you can be the best marriage celebrant that you can possibly be.

The Certificate IV in Celebrancy is offered by Talented Training as a five-day face-to-face kickstarter session, followed by up to 12 months of supported but self-directed learning and assessment. The face-to-face component of the course runs Monday to Friday, 9.30am-5pm daily.

Undertaking the course in a purely online or distance format is not currently available, but watch this space for future developments.

The course is assessed via a combination of written and practical tasks. You will need to have access to a computer and the internet.

The course costs $2200; contact us to find out about your payment options.

Before You Enrol

Creating a successful and sustainable celebrancy business can be difficult. It’s important that you know it may be tough to earn a full-time living from celebrancy. Completing this course does not guarantee that you will attain registration as a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant. Please ensure you have read the information on the Attorney General’s Department’s website about Becoming a Marriage Celebrant before you enrol for this course.

Once you have completed the Cert IV in Celebrancy, you will be required to apply for registration as a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant. The Attorney General’s Department will assess your suitability for registration based on the information you provide in your application. You will also be asked to complete a test on marriage legalities, and write a marriage ceremony based on a scenario. The application fee is currently $600.
